Steve Smith, the recently elected Public Defender, wanted to change the culture of his office and do things differently. Part of Steve's vision was creating space that convey appreciation for his staff and foster a sense of unity and collaboration. Because of FTC's reputation for creating unique and sustainable spaces, Steve approached us about creating a new home for his office, and we were thrilled to tackle the challenge. Today the Public Defenders Office feels much more like space for a tech company or creative agency. The nearly century-old building boasts 10,000 square feet of blended modern design and features with restored historic elements.
